This wireless LED Step Light has a motions sensor, perfect for stairways and hallways. When motion is detected, the motion sensor light comes on brightly and shuts off automatically after your choice of time settings, 30 or 60 seconds. This motion light is weatherproof, so it can be used indoors or out, in the RV, entryway steps or boat dock. I bought these for our front steps to help illuminate when guests come over. First off, all three lights had cracked housings – and it was not due to shipping damage – just poorly made. When on, they do give off bright light – but the motion sensor doesn’t kick the light on until it has detected motion for several moments – just walking by once won’t trigger it. So these were a total disappointment and are getting returned! Made in China though – so I am not surprised.

Wireless Motion Sensor Light
I live in a 100 year old house, which some significant wiring issues. One of the issues is that I can’t get the lights to work on the back stairwell. I thought about buying the cheap tap-on lights, but that didn’t make sense for both ends of the stairs. I would’ve had to leave them on until I went back to the top or bottom of the stairs. Having the motion detecting light makes perfect sense because I don’t need to worry about turning it on and off. This product works pretty well. It emits just enough light for my purposes, but it’s kind of inconsistent on how close you need to be to it before it goes on. It’s not exactly decorative, but it’s good enough for where I’ve got it.

Wireless Motion Sensor Light
My girlfriend’s new house is in a dark neighborhood and her front staircase is unlighted. In 5 minutes, I had it mounted to the wooden railing with the included screws. The light is quite bright, the sensor is very responsive, and I’m guessing that the 9ft range is a bit conservative. I’d say that it works for 10-12 ft. This maybe due to the fact that it’s mounted about 30″ from ground level. I read the reviews before purchasing. Regardless of place of manufacture, this is a really nice product. It’s a bit smaller than one review said — which is nice. I drilled pilot holes first, and the screws didn’t break off as another review mentioned. I’m so pleased with it, I’m going to purchase another to light her front door area.

Wireless Motion Sensor Light
I bought two of these about 2 months ago, after my visiting aunt fell coming down the stairs at night. She hadn’t wanted to turn on the hall light and disturb sleepers. She stepped off into air like Wile E. Coyote from the cliff, not realizing there were two more steps.
This light is great when there is no handy outlet for a nightlight. The bottom is flat enough to stand it on the side of the stair or next to a baseboard. That makes it easy to experiment with a good location without too much commitment. You can mount it with the included tape or screws, but I chose not to bother.
I put one on the floor before the first down-stair and the other one two steps from the bottom. Unless you’re running, that gives plenty of time for the sensor to pick up movement and turn the lights on before the crucial first and last footsteps. Even with the turn at the landing and no other light source, the two units light the whole stairway enough to be able to navigate comfortably.
The switches for the settings are inside the cover under the battery bays. It would be nicer if they were on the outside of the unit. To get at the switches, take off the back door by loosening the two plastic screws (lots of turning with a coin.) With the unit turned so the screw-holes are on the left, remove the top-most battery if you already have one installed. You’ll see two switches with barely readable embossed labels. The left switch says ON-TIME and the choices are 60 seconds (left position) or 20 seconds (right position). I find 20 seconds to be plenty of time for the light to be on, and it saves some battery. The right switch says GLOW and the choices are On (left position) or Off (right position). On gives you a constant low glow when the room is dark. Off gives you no glow, so the unit is dark until you walk near. Off saves battery power. I have both switches in the right position to save power.
When you remove a battery, the flat metal plate to which the spring is attached may pop out, but it’s easy to slide it back into its grooves. A minor annoyance.
This product is made in China.
I’d much prefer a warmer, homier light instead of the harsh blue-white light these units emit.
My wishes for this product are for easier settings, warmer light, and made in USA, but otherwise I strongly recommend it.

Serves our purpose very well. Perfect light for those dark areas in and outside the home. So happy with this unit I ordered another one of Mr Beams products. I highly recommend this product.
